‘What did your mom send?’ she asked.
He grinned, pulling the sweater over his head.
‘It's too big!’ she laughed. ‘Your fingers barely poke out of the sleeves.’
He laughed, too.
After she left, alone with the night he snuggled into the warm wool, losing himself to memories of the long ago feeling of smallness.
